Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

DropRyde is a marketplace platform that connects service providers, coordinators, and clients to get work done — across the United States, Dominican Republic, Nigeria, Pakistan, and beyond. We built DropRyde because workers deserve to get paid fairly and directly, and clients deserve reliable service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use DropRyde.

By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly and information generated by how you use the platform:

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and business details when you register.

• Transaction data: Job details, payment amounts, invoice records, bid history, and any work orders created through the platform.

• Location: Your service area (city/zip) for matching you with relevant jobs. Providers may share live GPS location during active jobs for client visibility — this is optional and can be turned off in Settings.

• Photos and files: Work photos, portfolio images, completion documentation, and any files you upload to jobs or your profile.

• Communications: Messages sent between users, SMS/WhatsApp notifications, and email correspondence facilitated through DropRyde.

• Technical data: Device type, browser, IP address, and how you interact with the platform (page views, clicks, feature usage).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the DropRyde platform and its features.

• Match providers with clients and coordinators with their networks.

• Process payments and maintain financial records.

• Send you job notifications, booking confirmations, invoices, and platform updates via email, SMS, or WhatsApp (per your preferences).

• Verify provider identity and build trust across the marketplace.

• Detect fraud, prevent abuse, and ensure platform security.

• Generate aggregate analytics to understand how the platform is used (no individual data sold).

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only when necessary:

• With your transaction counterparty: When a job is booked, relevant contact information is shared between the provider and client (e.g., phone number for coordination).

• With coordinators: If you are in a coordinator's network, they can see your profile and job activity within that network.

• With payment processors: Stripe processes card and ACH payments. Stripe has access to payment information needed to complete transactions. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data they process.

• With legal authorities: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of DropRyde users.

• With service providers: We use third-party tools (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under strict data processing agreements.

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we retain records required for tax reporting, legal compliance, and dispute resolution for a reasonable period (typically 7 years for financial records, per US law). Transaction records involving other users (invoices, job records) are retained to maintain the integrity of those users' histories.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

• Correct inaccurate information.

• Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements).

• Opt out of marketing communications (unsubscribe links are included in all emails).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@dropryde.com or use the /contact page.

7. International Data Transfers

DropRyde operates primarily from the United States. User data may be stored on servers located in the US. If you use DropRyde from the Dominican Republic, Nigeria, Pakistan, or elsewhere, your data is transferred to and processed in the US. By using the platform, you consent to this transfer.

We take appropriate security measures to protect your data regardless of where it is processed.

8. Cookies

DropRyde uses essential session cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (language, currency). We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell behavioral data to advertisers.

You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time, though this will log you out of DropRyde.

9. Children

DropRyde is designed for adults and is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at privacy@dropryde.com.

10. SMS & Text Messaging

DropRyde may send transactional text messages (SMS) to your mobile phone number for service coordination, including job assignments, arrival notifications, payment confirmations, and invoice reminders.

No sharing of mobile numbers: User information and mobile numbers are never shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile phone number is collected solely for transactional service coordination and will not be disclosed, sold, or shared with third parties except as required by law or to provide the services requested.

Message frequency: You will receive periodic transactional messages related to your service requests. The exact number of messages depends on your usage of the platform.

Message and data rates may apply: Depending on your mobile carrier plan, you may be charged for incoming or outgoing messages.

Opt-out: You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send the SMS message STOP to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. For help with any message, reply HELP.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. For material changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of DropRyde after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
